A-hole has indulgently explained, again and again and again, that recessions never occur unless there are -- and occur only if there are -- two consecutive quarters of negative growth. He is absolutely certain of this ... because he heard it somewhere, and is too stupid to check out his typically ignorant presumption. For example, today, yet again, he tells us "This looks to be a standard, 3-4 quarter recession."
In fact, recessions are defined based on many factors. If recessions were based simply on quarterly GDP, then all recessions would be 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, etc. months long, and never any other number.
Guess what? The current recession began in December 2007 and is now in its SEVENTEENTH MONTH, making it THE LONGEST RECESSION SINCE THE ONE THAT BEGAN IN AUGUST 1929.
Get it? The recession is ALREADY seventeen months long. I guess A-hole's prediction of a 9- to 12-month recession is, uh ... EXTRAORDINARILY STUPID AND IGNORANT. And his statement that the recession is "standard" is, too. What a surprise.
So here's an open letter to A-hole.
